Retreat

An Annual Retreat is held in the winter, at a UMC camp or other location. Themes of past retreats have included Relationships, Joy, Growing in Faith (2002), The Wisdom of Proverbs (2003), Hospitality (2004) and Christian Hope (2005). The theme for the 2006 retreat was Healing. This day of prayer and reflection was held at St. Mary's Retreat Center in Watchung. Bible Study

Bible study series are held periodically and generally meet on Sunday mornings or weekday evenings for a period of several months. The DISCIPLE study series, consisting of BECOMING DISCIPLES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY (2001), INTO THE WORD INTO THE WORLD (2002), REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE (2003), and UNDER THE TREE OF LIFE (2004) was completed in the spring of 2005. Other Bible study sessions have included Companions in Christ, Savior on a Cross (Lenten 2005) and are scheduled based on interest and time availability of attendees. Currently a weekly evening Bible study series is ongoing utilizing Conrad Gempf's book "Mealtime Habits of the Messiah 40 Encounters with Jesus".
