Sunday School Happenings

What a wonderful start to the Sunday School year!  Our kick-off breakfast on Sept 7 was filled with good food and good fellowship.  Our theme for the morning was “We are all on a Faith Journey.”  As teachers, students and parents, we joined together to commit to learning, sharing and growing together.  Following our breakfast, there was a dedication of our teachers and staff at the 10:30 AM worship service.  We covet your prayers as we share in this most important ministry!

Lots happening in October.  First, on October 5, we will be joining with Christians around the world as we celebrate World Wide Communion during the 10:30 AM worship service.  All Sunday School classes will participate in worship and we invite all families to join us as we celebrate the gift of the communion meal.

October 19 marks the community CROP Walk for hunger.  We welcome all families and students to join in this most worthwhile mission.  Last year marked a record year in giving for the community and we are hoping to surpass last year’s giving!  For all those interested in participating, please see Michelle Ayer who is coordinating the walk for our church.  Michelle has registration information and materials.  The walk is around the towns of Fanwood and Scotch Plains with stops at houses of worship for refreshments and bathrooms.  Come join us as we walk to raise funds for those in need!

On October 26, we will celebrate UNICEF Sunday.  During our Sunday School celebration we will learn about this the work UNICEF does around the world helping children.  I hear the Youth Class will be sharing some special entertainment with us that day.  There will be games and goodies too!   We invite the congregation to help us in our coin collecting drive as we share with others to bring clean water, medicine and education to children around the world.  We will dedicate our offerings in worship on November. 2.

Classes are available from Pre K on up and we always have room for more – so invite your friends and neighbors to join us as we journey on in our faith!
